General Information
- History: Iğdır University Department of Health Management started to admit students in the 2019-2020 academic year within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Iğdır University is among the leading universities providing undergraduate education in the field of Health Management
- Programme Outcomes: The outcomes of the Health Management programme include the knowledge, skills and competencies that students gain at the end of the education process:
- Management Skills: To develop planning, organisation, leadership and control skills necessary for the management of health services.
- Knowledge of Health Policies: To have an in-depth knowledge of the health care system and policies, and to be able to understand the legal and ethical norms affecting health care.
- Financial Management Competence: To develop the ability to manage financial resources effectively by gaining mastery of the financial management and budgeting processes of health institutions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: To be able to make knowledge-based decisions to improve the quality of health services by gaining the skills to analyse and report health data.
- Communication Skills: To develop the ability to communicate effectively with health professionals and other stakeholders, and to become prone to teamwork.
- Awareness of Ethics and Social Responsibility: To make ethical and socially sensitive decisions in the field of health management by having knowledge about ethics and social responsibility issues.
- Project Management: To contribute to the development of the health system by gaining the ability to plan and implement projects related to health services.
- Language / Type of Education: The education language of Health Management undergraduate programme is Turkish and formal education programme is applied.
- Infrastructure Facilities: The Department of Health Management has classrooms with technological infrastructure equipped in accordance with contemporary education methods. These classrooms offer a suitable environment for interactive learning and group work. In addition, the department offers practice opportunities in cooperation with health institutions and hospitals in order for students to gain real-world experience.

Double Major / Minor Programs
Double Major Programme: It provides students with the opportunity to obtain a bachelor's degree in another department of their interest in addition to their main department. In this programme, students can complete the courses of two different departments and obtain a diploma in both fields.
Minor Programme: It allows the student to take a certain number of courses in a field of interest other than his/her major. Students who complete the minor programme are awarded an official certificate in this field; however, this does not mean a second undergraduate diploma.

Exchange Programs
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university in Turkey or abroad for a certain period of time. Through these programmes, students have the opportunity to get to know different cultures, improve their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programmes include Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.

Career
Aims and Objectives of the Programme: The main objective of the Health Management programme is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage health services effectively and efficiently. While the department aims to train qualified professionals who can manage health services, it offers students the opportunity to specialise in different fields such as hospital management, public health and health policies by providing a multidisciplinary perspective.
Current Status and Future of the Programme: The Department of Health Management provides education in order to train qualified managers in the field of health services. The department attaches importance to transforming theoretical knowledge into practice by keeping its curriculum up-to-date in order to adapt to the rapidly developing health sector. In addition, the application opportunities offered to students enable students to gain experience in the field.
New areas such as the integration of technology into health services, data analytics and digital health applications offer a wide range of career opportunities for graduates of the department. In addition, global health problems and the increasing importance of health policies on a national/international scale will further increase the value of individuals trained in this field.
Occupations and Employment Opportunities: Health Management graduates have the opportunity to work in various fields such as hospitals, clinics, health institutions, public health institutions and insurance companies. Graduates can work in many different positions such as hospital administrator, health policy analyst, health systems consultant. With the increasing demand for health services and the increasing need for health managers, the job opportunities of graduates are increasing considerably.
